The Foundation Course is ideal for both new yoga students and existing yogis, providing a solid and necessary foundation of knowledge to inform and transform both shared and personal practice. We will explore the subtle and active aspects of the physical body and its alignment through movement and held postures, and work with the breath and the energy body to enhance capacity and confidence. Yoga is far more than simply a practice of asanas (postures), and we will also explore aspects of pranayama (breath awareness), dharana (concentration) and dhyana (meditation) to help you achieve clarity, purpose and mindfulness both on and off your yoga mats.
This 10 session course takes place over 5 weeks, providing a calm and balanced environment for learning and growth. By connecting the body and breath with your awareness, you will finish the course equipped with the knowledge and confidence to attend any yoga class in the future. Each student will receive a copy of Nth Yoga's book Visualise your Asana, which includes visuals to guide you in your self practice and execution of the posture, along with the English and Sanskrit name for each asana.
We encourage new students to take the Foundation Course before attending general classes.
